LANDRY\n \n IN SOUTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA\n \n LAFAYETTE ST. SVRLCH\n \n The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a\n \n * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...\n South central Rapides Parish in central Louisiana...\n Northwestern Evangeline Parish in central Louisiana...\n Northeastern Allen Parish in southwestern Louisiana...\n \n * Until 500 PM CDT.\n \n * At 414 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Oakdale,\n moving northeast at 15 mph.\n \n HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.\n \n SOURCE...Radar indicated.\n \n IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage\n to roofs, siding, and trees.\n \n * Locations impacted include...\n Oakdale, Glenmora, Turkey Creek, Pine Prairie, Allen Parish\n Airport, Beaver, and Mcnary.

At 400 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near\n Oakdale, moving east at 30 mph.\n \n HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.\n \n SOURCE...Radar indicated.\n \n IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around\n unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor\n objects is possible.\n \n Locations impacted include...\n Oakdale, Glenmora, Elizabeth, Turkey Creek, Pine Prairie, Allen\n Parish Airport, and Beaver.\n \n This includes Interstate 49 near mile marker 63.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.\n \n Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to\n localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded\n roadways.\n \n Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.\n Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe\n shelter inside a building or vehicle.\n \n This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio\n stations and available television stations for additional information\n and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.\n \n A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for\n southwestern Louisiana.
